Arrival and departure

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival from 4 pm, departure by 10 am. Book direct on our website and departure moves to 11 am.

Can I arrive late?

Yes. Tell us your arrival time when you book, or call us on the day, and we will arrange it. Coming off a late ferry is common here: see our Cherbourg ferry stopover page.

How do I find the château?

Château de Flottemanville, 50700 Flottemanville, ten minutes from Valognes and 35 minutes from the Cherbourg ferry terminal. Directions in Google Maps.

Arriving by car

Is there parking?

Yes, free, inside the grounds. The château sits at the end of its own 500-metre private drive, and there is room for every car on level gravel or concrete, lit at night and well away from the road. No ticket, no barrier, and the luggage can stay in the boot overnight. Vehicles are parked at their owners’ own risk.

Is the drive suitable for a very low car?

The drive is a 500-metre country lane. If your car is very low, get in touch before booking and we will describe it so you can decide.

Can I charge an electric car?

Not at the château yet. The nearest fast charger (up to 120 kW) is ten minutes away: Lidl, 56 boulevard Félix Buhot, Valognes, open 24/7, card payment. Directions in Google Maps. 20 to 30 minutes usually adds 150 to 200 km, depending on your car. There are slower 22 kW points in the centre of Valognes. Check live availability in a charging app such as Chargemap before you set off.

At the château

When is breakfast served?

From 8 to 9.30 am, in the château’s old kitchen, for guests in the rooms. Leaving early for a ferry? Tell us your time.

Do you serve dinner?

No, but good tables are close by. See our where to dine page, and book ahead in season.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free.

Are dogs welcome?

Yes: €15 per night in the rooms, €30 per stay in the cottages, one pet per booking. Just tell us when you book.

Is the château suitable for reduced mobility?

The Garden Cottage is entirely on the ground floor. The château rooms are reached by stairs. The château is a historic building and is not specially adapted for wheelchairs: tell us your needs before booking and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
